August 31st, 2007 Posted in Discussion

Heath, Newark and many other surrounding communities have one– should this be a top priority for Granville?

Yes, I believe you need a commuity pool. My grandkids live and go to school in Granville. As a child growing up and as my children grew up we spend a lot of time a swimming pools in Lancaster, Ohio. It was good clean fun for the children and kept them out of trouble and gave them something to do during the summer. It also would create a few jobs for teenagers or college students during the summer.

I belive it is a good idea.

Yes! I grew up in Granville where the whole community used to gather in the summer at Spring Valley. These are some of the best memories I have of growing up. Now, people go to several pools - none in Granville. I think the community would benefit from a pool where we could meet each other, have our kids learn to swim together, and get some exercise together during the summer. It would be a great addition to help Granville grow as a community.

As a swimmer it was hard to leave spring valley pool when it closed. Then the swim team had to move to the heath pool and start swimming at 7:00am. If we had a pool we could get better hours and more kids would get acive and in better shape.
