From the Granville Rotary website:
Granville Rotary announced the club is launching a new annual event, the Granville Rotary Wine Festival. The introductory event this year will be held on Friday evening, June 5 from 5:30 pm to 8 pm at the Granville Inn. Over 50 wines will be available to sample along with hors d’oeuvres. Wine experts from several local distributors will be available to introduce new vineyards and varietals as well as to answer questions about wine-making, wine and food pairings, and entertaining. In addition, the event will feature the auction of a stunning collection of affordable award-winning art including lithographs, engravings, etchings, watercolors, silkscreens, giclees, cartoon cels, original oils and various mixed media.
Some of the artists whose work will be featured include contemporary art from artists including Yaacov Agam, Lucelle Raad, Howard Behrens, Leroy Nieman, Jim Buckels, and Thomas McKnight in addition to works from Chagall, Miro, Erte, Rockwell, Toulouse-Lautrec, Dali, Delacroix and Picasso, among others. All of the art is framed and ready to hang. At the end of the auction a raffle will be held for a hand signed work of art valued at $2,000. Each attendee will receive one raffle ticket plus auction winners will receive additional tickets for every $100 they purchase. Tickets are $30 and are available at the Granville Inn front desk. Proceeds from this event will support Granville Rotary’s scholarship program as well as other local projects. In June 2010, the club is planning a lavish Friday evening Winemaker’s Dinner at the Granville Inn followed by a Saturday Wine Festival to be held on the Bryn Du Great Lawn. With two great wine stores in Granville (Wine Cache & Nona Enoteca) we expect this will be a great event.
