Apparently in conjunction with the Hot Licks Blues Fest, there is also a 5 mile running race. I’m not exactly sure how the two are connected, but the site says it is a benefit for the local Granville Teen Center.

The start & finish are at Broadway & Cherry. Each participant receives an event beer glass.

It took me a while, but I finally found the official website for the 2007 Hot Licks Blues Fest.  It’s a pretty decent site.  You can check out the lineup, and even watch a few YouTube videos of the acts.

The annual event is organized by the Granville Federation for the Appreciation of the Blues, will take place in downtown Granville, Ohio, on September 15, 2007, from noon until 10pm.  Here’s the schedule:

  • Mojo Kings: noon
  • Inner City Blues (Columbus): 1pm
  • Kilborn Alley Blues Band (Chicago): 2:30pm
  • Roger Hoover: 4pm
  • Hubert Sumlin:  6:30pm
  • Robin Lacy and DeZydeco: 8:30pm

The GHS Blue Ace football team started off its 2007 season with a thrilling win against Johnstown, 21-20.  Trailing 20-7 at halftime, Granville rallied for 14 unanswered points in the 2nd half to win in dramatic fashion.

The James Store (124 E. Broadway, 740-587-7780) is holding its official grand (re)opening on Saturday, September 22nd. The store changed hands back in February, and has undergone some significant renovations, along with carrying many new lines & items for women, kids and babies.

The event will feature food, live music, raffles for merchandise and some special 1-day store sales. Stop anytime all day long to check out the festivities!

Crocs Sandals Now Available At The James Store

This summer, The James Store (124 E. Broadway, 740-587-3061) started carrying Crocs sandals for men, women & children. A few weeks ago, they received the first shipment of Ohio State Crocs– stop in and take a look.
