The Granville School Board will meet Monday, May 12, 2008 at 6:00 pm in the school district offices. Among other things, on the agenda is a presentation of three new courses, staffing projections for 2008 - 2009, a timeline for the high school principal search, and the hiring of the new treasurer.
Updated: At its meeting on May 12, 2008 at 7:00 pm, the Planning Commission will consider six proposals for work within Granville's historic district. Denison has 3 proposals before the Commission including a change in the lighting of Burke Hall. One of Denison's proposals is for an elevator addition to Curtis Hall on the campus within the Institutional District.
In the case of one application (139 W. Elm Street), the owners of the property have begun their project before review by the Planning Commission.
Jim Siegel, chairman of the Tree & Landscape Commission presented a report to the Village Council at its May 7, 2008 meeting. He reported that Granville received its 17th consecutive designation as a Tree City. In addition, Granville applied for and received the Growth Award for 2007.
The Board of Zoning & Building Appeals will hold three hearings at its meeting Thursday, May 8, 2007 at 7:00 pm in the Village Offices. Under consideration are requests for variances for properties at 395 North Pearl Street, 108 Chapin Place, and 389 Glyn Tawel Drive.
The Village Council appointed Lyle McClow of 629 Burg Street to a one-year term on the Planning Commission during its meeting Wednesday, May 7, 2008. McClow had previously applied for the position and was subsequently suggested by the Granville School Board. According to Granville's Charter, the School Board makes a yearly appointment to the Planning Commission that must be ratified by Village Council.
